About Teresa

Teresa Burns is the daughter of John and Janet Colson and my sister. A native of Natchitoches she’s lived most of her adult life in Lafayette, LA and is a wife and mom to four daughters. Teresa discovered her gift as a medium about ten years ago and has been using it to help others ever since. A registered nurse for nearly thirty years she now commits herself fully to her gift.

I finally got the opportunity, after much begging, to have my sister, Teresa, as my guest on the GumboLife podcast. She was basically not having it and I had to voluntold her. It’s one of the things I’m famous for! Teresa was a fantastic guest and you will hear stories about our childhood and lots of laughing.

She discusses openly, for the first time, her journey to finding her gift as a medium and how it has impacted her life. She talks about how she resisted even believing she had a gift until she was able to see it fully. It’s an interesting conversation between two sisters that’s truly like you’re sitting in the room listening to us.

We talk about my Grandmother and her work as a traiteur or healer and what it was like growing up with her. And how we were never to talk of the gifts of people we knew. It was known but always kept quiet, but people knew who to go to if they needed help.

I hope you enjoy this glimpse into our family and of two sisters that love each other more than words. I have to say this is definitely my most special episode.
