This Episode
I was honored to have Dr. Moriah Istre-Hargrave on my show to talk about all the great work she’s doing in the Cajun and Creole world. Moriah and I talked about her film, First Cousins: Cajun and Creole Music in South Louisiana and the impact that it has had. Moriah is a fantastic dancer and she shared about her new project, a dance instructional video, and what’s next for Zydefit. All of these things live under the umbrella of her brand Fleurish Forever. Her website has all of her merch, book and videos as well as booking information.
I’m proud of the work Moriah and her sister, Elista Istre have done to promote and preserve Creole culture. They have done more than develop films and books, but have built a community. Their work is an integral part of the modern Creole movement. I’m happy to call them both my friends and sisters in culture.
