About Bryant

Bryant “Boobie” Fuselier aka The Sauce Boss is a treasure of St. Landry Parish. Bryant takes care of people here both as a nurse and with his delicious cooking. He was born and raised and still lives on his family land in Prairie Laurent, LA in between Opelousas and Leonville. He is married to Melinda Guillory Fuselier and they have a son Cody Fuselier.

Bryant is known for his cooking in our community and has a catering business, Sauce Boss Catering, and his own line of spices, Fuselier Foods. This Episode

I met Bryant soon after moving to Opelousas and he is one of those people you become instant friends with. Bryant is always willing to cook up a good meal for a great cause and does so with more integrity than most. He says, he cooks for others the same way he cooks for himself.

In this episode, Bryant talks about the family land he was born and raised on that’s been in his family since the 1800’s and what it was like for him growing up. His love for cooking came from having to eat one to many bologna sandwiches and at 11 years old decided to give cooking a try. I’ll let you listen to the episode to see how that experiment turned out.

We talk about family and how things used to be. Because it was important for families to go to church together, eat together and visit every weekend. He talks about Creole culture and that the heritage lives within him.

This is a really interesting episode about a great cook doing some really great things. On his website he says cooking is not only about taste but the wonderful way it brings loved ones and friends together. No matter how good I can cook, it would be meaningless without the memories it brings back, the stories we share while preparing the meal, and the fun arguing we do just to give each other a hard time in a loving way.
